The Connecting with Communities Fundraising Luncheon
The Cadillac Fairview Corporation hosted our third annual
Connecting with Communities Luncheon on
Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Vancouver. The lunch will feature an inspirational speech by
Steven Page – former lead singer of the Barenaked Ladies.
We are thrilled to announce that the money raised will go to our partner organization - Coast Mental Health. The money will go to funding the Coast Mental Health Resource Centre (CMHRC), which plays an important role in the lives of people with mental illness, including those who are homeless. For many, the Centre is the first point of contact with mental health services.
It is important for CF to “connect” with the community where we do business, and to that end we have partnered with Coast Mental Health. This organization provides resources and assists in making life more manageable for thousands of people living on the streets and/or with mental illness.
Over the past four years our fundraising events have raised over $260,000 for organizations that work tirelessly to support individuals living with homeless and/or mental health issues. We would like to build on this success and continue to support their work in a very meaningful way.
Corporate Social Responsibility
As one of the largest investors, owners, and managers of commercial real estate in downtown Vancouver, Cadillac Fairview is frequently called upon for sponsorship and donations. To ensure that our giving is targeted to issues that affect the community where we do business, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and committee have been developed. The CSR strategy focusses giving on homelessness, mental health, and community safety.
Partner Organization
We have partnered with Coast Mental Health, which provides resources and assistance to make life more manageable for thousands of people living on the streets and/or with a mental illness. The organization promotes recovery of people with mental illness and improves their lives by providing housing, jobs, social/recreational opportunities, food, clothing, and life-skills training.
Other Partnership Opportunities
While most of our local giving is linked to the involvement of our partners, Cadillac Fairview finds additional ways to help strengthen community life. Before submitting your proposal, be sure to review our Giving Guidelines and Exclusions (listed on form).
