The Connecting with Communities Fundraising Luncheon

The Cadillac Fairview Corporation hosted our fourth annual Connecting with Communities Luncheon on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Vancouver. The lunch featured an inspirational speech by Jessica Holmes – is one of Canada's top comedic entertainers and improvisers.  She is most well-known as one of the stars of CBC's Royal Canadian Air Farce.   Jessica is also a life coach; her first book, I Love Your Laugh, was published in 2011.

We are thrilled to announce that the money raised went go to our partner organization - Coast Mental Health. The money went to funding the Coast Mental Health Resource Centre (CMHRC), which plays an important role in the lives of people with mental illness, including those who are homeless. For many, the Centre is the first point of contact with mental health services.

It is important for CF to “connect” with the community where we do business, and to that end we have partnered with Coast Mental Health. This organization provides resources and assists in making life more manageable for thousands of people living on the streets and/or with mental illness.

Over the past four years our fundraising events have raised over $300,000 for organizations that work tirelessly to support individuals living with homeless and/or mental health issues. We would like to build on this success and continue to support their work in a very meaningful way.

Corporate Social Responsibility

As one of the largest investors, owners, and managers of commercial real estate in downtown Vancouver, Cadillac Fairview is frequently called upon for sponsorship and donations. To ensure that our giving is targeted to issues that affect the community where we do business, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy focuses on giving towards homelessness, mental health, and community safety.

Charitable Partner
We have partnered with Coast Mental Health as they promote the recovery of persons with a mental illness. Coast improves the lives of people with mental illness by providing housing, jobs, social/recreational opportunities, food, clothing, and life-skills training.

Other Partnership Opportunities
While most of our local giving is linked to the involvement of our partner, Cadillac Fairview finds additional ways to help strengthen community life.
